Why Tot 2 Teen Tools?
I am passionate about providing children with a spiritual and educational space which allows them to blossom and tools which will give them a head start in life. Every child is a unique creation, so there is no rule of thumb. Psalm 139:13-14 “For You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
My strong Christian foundation and raising two teenagers in the 21st century, has been the inspiration for this new journey in my life. I sense the calling to provide material which would assist our youth with affirmation and an alternative method of dealing with exclusion, academic stress and anxiety.
My teaching qualification has afforded me the privilege of teaching children in the Grade 1 to Grade 7 age range. My own children, twin siblings of 34-years and a 16-year old daughter, have helped me navigate the teen and early adulthood phase. Every challenge has taken me into a new and exciting realm of study.
I have gained invaluable knowledge from neuro-feedback training of ADHD children. I am a certified Integrated Learning therapist (ILT) with the Wired to Learn program which assists children with learning difficulties, and I have qualified in yoga movement and breathing practices which assist with anxiety, sleep disorders and lack of focus. I do not, however, adhere to yoga philosophy, but encourage meditation on Biblical principles.
I absolutely love books and completely agree with Dr Seuss when he said: “You’re never too old, too whacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child”. My firm belief is that the love of reading is the key to unlocking academic potential. Stories create magic and a sense of wonder at the world. Stories teach us about life, about ourselves and about others. Storytelling is a unique way for children to develop an understanding, respect and appreciation for all of God’s creation. I use storytelling quite extensively with the 2 – 8 year old yoga technique lessons in my product called yogaT2T
The following Quote is so true: “Being a parent is learning about strengths you never knew you had and dealing with fears you never knew existed”.
I would like to come alongside you and your children on this journey, and supply you with tools to ease the way. Tools which I myself have successfully used.
