Affirmation Bible reading: Psalm 139 : 13-16

13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.15 My frame was not hidden from you  when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

What wonderful affirmation! When translated from Hebrew, the word fearfully means with great reverence, heart-felt interest and respect. Wonderfully when translated from Hebrew means unique and set apart. You need to live in the awareness that you were created with great reverence, heart-felt interest and respect to be unique and set apart. Every human being was created to be Christ’s image-bearer and to live a fulfilled life without rival, for an amazing and unique purpose.

Every ice bubble is unique, just like you are. Click on the link below to watch an ice bubble forming and as you watch, think about the fact that this is God’s inspired imagination in action. The same God that created these ice bubbles, created YOU and He thinks you are His most beautiful creation. He put you above everything in heaven and on earth.

Breathe exercise: Try this 7/11 breathing exercise to calm your nervous system. Empty your lungs, place a hand on your stomach, then take a deep breath and feel your stomach swell. Count to 7, then breathe out gently to the count of 11. Repeat this for 2 to 3 minutes or until you feel calm and relaxed. Now meditate on these words: Ephesians 2:10 ‘For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.’

Pray: Dear Lord, help me to remember that I am your child and that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Open my ears to hear your calling on my life. Thank you for only making one of me and for loving me. Amen.

Remember: Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than You!!!! – Dr Seuss

Journaling: Look back in your journal and thank God for all the encouragement during the week. Use your journal to check your physical and spiritual progress on your journey. Did your food intake provide sufficient energy and stop you from snacking between meals? What was your mood like? Were you able to concentrate after eating certain junk foods? Are you feeling better about yourself, your circumstances and how you deal with stress? Last, but certainly not least, have you realised just how much God loves and cares for you.

Food for thought: We are meant to belong to a community and not to live in isolation. As we love, serve and enjoy relationships with other people; we reflect the eternal and beautiful image of God. Healthy relationships are built on mutual trust and respect; with individuals always seeking to bring good to others, despite their differences. Please take note of Audre Lorde’s quote: ‘It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept and celebrate those differences.’ Always remember that we are ALL created in God’s image.

Thank you Lord that I am loved. Listen to this beautiful song by Lauren Daigle called You Say:
